On the third year of starting our dating relationship, to the very day (22.11.2007), I asked the woman God had brought into my life three years ago whether she would marry me. Happily she agreed!
Sometime in 2003 I distinctly remember starting a new stage of prayer, where I began asking God if he was leading me to serve him overseas, possibly in Japan, and at the same time I felt that he would provide a suitable wife to help me. Just about that time I got to meet Candy while she was on Campus Crusade staff training. She had already responded to God’s call to serve in Japan for four years and she had not been praying for a man to go with her!
But meanwhile I found myself attracted by her sweet spirit (the kind that won’t give you a toothache!) and told her so. Thankfully God spoke to her that this was a relationship worth exploring, and on 22.11.2004 we started a three-year dating relationship, most of it long-distance, getting to know if we were meant to be together. And now I believe we are!
By His grace, we will be wed on the 20th of September 2008. We look forward to the blessing of your presence at Charis Methodist Church (Candy’s home church ever since she became a Christian in elementary school), and invite you to pray a thanksgiving prayer with us to our good Father for providing so many blessings as we prepared for this marriage.
