Please pray that we will all be alert and careful to keep our focus on the Lord. We had experienced much opposition coming before the trip. Pray for us that:
- the door may be opened for us to share the gospel clearly and relevant for the special children there. We are not primarily there for ‘evangelism’ but with permission of the city to act as counsellors to these kids, to help them feel genuine care from adults, instead of what they’ve experienced before. Yet we know the only true love that meets their need is Jesus’. We hope they’ll know that.
- safety for us as we travel to and from the campsite, as well as during the camp. We heard some of kids could act violently.
- patience and love among the team-members going there. So far all Singaporeans, but maybe some Japanese Christians will join us later.
- For Candy and myself to have a much-looked-forward-to rekindling of love for the land of Japan. That we would have meaningful fellowship with the friends we can revisit on this short trip.
