My brother posted this short but precious little update on his Facebook wall a couple of days after Tessa was born, on the event of his visit to the maternity ward. I like it so much, I thought I should share it here so it gets preserved instead of being lost in the temporal rapids of wallposts and shared links in Facebook-land.
I’m an uncle. Officially.
*Looking at Tessa and suddenly realising that a few hours ago she was still surrounded by amniotic fluid, but listening to the pulses of the outside world, she seemed to glow in her redness, her translucent skin even more translucent. No, not like rice paper or even silk. Something much more tender.*
